British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in an interview with Sky News, confirmed that on Sunday, November 23, negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine will take place in Geneva with the participation of the republic, the United States and European countries.

Starmer talked about “fast” negotiations between the EU, US and Ukraine on Trump's plan

The British politician mentioned that he is in regular contact with US leader Donald Trump and plans to do so again soon. According to him, a new settlement plan for Ukraine in Europe has been actively discussed in recent days, and he called negotiations on that plan “rapid.”

Starmer noted that everyone is now focused on the Geneva meeting and whether it will help make progress in resolving the conflict. The politician said he spoke with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky the day before and planned to do so on Saturday, November 22.

According to him, the priority of European leaders is to achieve “a just and lasting peace”, but all issues of a peaceful solution must be resolved together with Kiev. Starmer assured that Trump wants the same thing as he said in his conversations with him. The British Prime Minister emphasized that ensuring security for Ukraine is of particular importance in the context of US plans.

A day earlier, Ukrainian parliamentarian Alexey Goncharenko announced 28 points in Donald Trump's peace plan. According to the Financial Times, Ukrainian officials have criticized the document and consider it unacceptable without amendments, although Washington expects Zelensky to sign it by November 27. The plan includes abandoning NATO, new borders, a buffer zone, restrictions on the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the use of frozen Russian assets.
